WHO ARE WE?
Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 456. Our charter is held by the Pond Elementary School PTO. We are part of the New Horizons District which is one of fifteen districts in the St. Louis Area Council. We are led solely by adult volunteers who see the worth of investing in our children’s growth and development.
WHY JOIN?
You and your son have a lot of choices in after-school activities. Boys want to have fun, while you want them to learn positive values and skills that will last a lifetime. For your son, being a scout is all about fun. Activities include camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, racing and building a pinewood derby car and more. If you ask Scout parents, they will likely tell you that scouting is “fun with a purpose”. Activities are designed to prepare boys to make ethical choices and strive to achieve their full potential. Scouting develops leadership skills and teaches respect for God, Country and fellow man. It builds character and confidence through achievement and self-reliance. It builds friendships and teaches boys to do their best. Participating in Cub Scouts is a fun way to stay involved in your sons’ lives while having the opportunity to teach them something along the way. If your son is interested in joining scouts please contact Jason Bachert at 636-821-3248.
WHO MAY JOIN?
Any boy, age seven or in the first grade (for Tiger Cubs) through age ten or fifth grade (for Webelos).
Cub Scouting is a family oriented program for boys in the first through fifth grades. However, the first grade Tiger Program is run slightly different from the 2nd – 5th grade scouts, and is more of an introduction to Cub Scouting. We are an organization that promotes and expects family involvement. |
